Banner Stave Locker. These tall narrow cupboards are found in 12 Suffolk churches, and were almost certainly designed to contain the long poles used to carry guild and church banners in processions. Curiously, all the churches that have them are grouped together in the north-east of the county. The one at Barnby, uniquely in all England, retains its original door.
